Jonathan Palmer, founder and Chief Executive of PalmerSport,
first developed a passion for motorsport in the early 70s as a
spectator. It wasn't long before he became involved himself, racing
an Austin Healey Sprite whilst studying at Guy's Medical
What started as a weekend hobby quickly became something far
more serious as he progressed successfully from Formula Ford
through F3 and then winning the European F2 championship. Jonathan
made his F1 debut in 1983 with Williams and enjoyed seven years of
Grand Prix racing whilst also competing in sports cars, finishing
second at Le Mans in 1985.
When he retired from full-time driving in 1991 he focused on a
new ambition: to create the best corporate driving event in the
world. More than 20 years later PalmerSport has come a long way,
yet its hallmark - giving guests unprecedented levels of freedom
and encouragement to drive fabulous performance cars faster than
they ever thought possible - remains as powerful as ever.
